Who we are
Compassionate Hearts is a Christian registered charity founded in 2025 and is dedicated to serving vulnerable families in Acholi sub-region of Northern Uganda.
Decades of war left widows, orphans, and the elderly in poverty and hunger. Partnering with churches and local leaders, we restore hope through Christ-centered development.
Vision: Empowered communities thriving with dignity and purpose in Christ.
Mission: Restore hope and dignity by equipping 1,550 families over five years by improving food security, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods.
We provide training, seeds, tools, and mentorship to help 1,550 families grow their own food, improve nutrition, and build sustainable livelihoods. Through our programs, we restore hope, dignity, and self-reliance, empowering communities to thrive physically, economically, and spiritually. Every gift helps break cycles of hunger and poverty while reflecting Christ’s love in action.
To strengthen transparency and to increase global awareness, including here in Canada, we have partnered with The Great Commission Foundation as of August 2025.
The challenge
Northern Uganda’s Acholi sub-region faces 68% of families below the poverty line, surviving on one meal per day, low farm productivity due to outdated methods and climate shocks, and weak market access and limited income opportunities.

Sustainability & Accountability
Sustainability and accountability are two essential, intertwined concepts for a better future, where sustainability focuses on creating processes and systems that can last indefinitely, and accountability ensures that individuals, organizations, and governments are responsible for their actions and report on their outcomes to achieve those goals.
- Training equips families with lifelong skills in farming, nutrition, and stewardship
- Farmer groups and churches sustain growth beyond external funding.
- Risks addressed through crop diversification, multiple market outlets, and regular monitoring
- Managed locally in Uganda and internationally with full financial accountability through Canada’s Great Commission Foundation
Our Response: Mission and Discipleship
Serving both body and soul, sharing the love of Jesus Christ in all we do. Through our Mission and Discipleship Project, we equip Christians and churches to live out the Great Commission, organizing mission conferences, leading Bible studies, hosting youth and student events, and providing mentorship and training. Our goal is to empower individuals and churches to embrace their calling and make a lasting impact for Christ.
